Catch of the Day

The Quick Breakdown
-Yummy seafood.

The Atmosphere
-Fish market/seafood restaurant. You walk in and see a cooler with fresh fish and shrimp. They just changed their location so it looked like there was still a little work to be done. Don't let appearances stop you from ordering.

The Food
-The 1 fish + 6 shrimp combination platter. Served with bread, hush puppies, and french fries. The seafood was fresh and well seasoned. SOO GOOD I had to come back the next day. It's been quite a while since I have enjoyed fried fish this much.

Firehouse Subs

The Quick Breakdown
-A Superior Sub Shop. No more subway for me.

The Atmosphere
-Hoses, fire hats, axes, masks, and other firehouse memorabilia line the walls of this restaurant. A spectacular mural depicts some firefighters in action. It also incorporates the mascots of several local fire companies.

The Food
-Firehouse Steak Sub: Sauteed sirloin steak with provolone, topped with sauteed onions and bell peppers. Finally, a steak sub with REAL STEAK!!! See the hearty slices of steak in the sandwich. This sub was simply mind-blowing. A must try for cheesesteak lovers.

Tan Tan

The Quick Breakdown
-The best wonton noodle soup in Houston

The Atmosphere
-Loud and busy(This is always a good sign at a Chinese restaurant). At any given moment one can hear at least four different languages being spoken.

The Food
-House Special Rice Cake. A great way to start the meal. Sliced rice cakes are pan fried with eggs and topped with dried turnip, green onions, and crispy onion. Served with a special house sauce.
-Wonton Noodle Soup. Hand made pork and shrimp wontons in soup with sliced BBQ pork, Chinese vegetable, and green onions. Your choice of egg or wide rice noodle. The wonderfully seasoned wontons and the slight crunch of the egg noodles make this the best wonton noodle soup in Houston.
