Tan Tan

The Quick Breakdown
-The best wonton noodle soup in Houston

The Atmosphere
-Loud and busy(This is always a good sign at a Chinese restaurant). At any given moment one can hear at least four different languages being spoken.

The Food
-House Special Rice Cake. A great way to start the meal. Sliced rice cakes are pan fried with eggs and topped with dried turnip, green onions, and crispy onion. Served with a special house sauce.
-Wonton Noodle Soup. Hand made pork and shrimp wontons in soup with sliced BBQ pork, Chinese vegetable, and green onions. Your choice of egg or wide rice noodle. The wonderfully seasoned wontons and the slight crunch of the egg noodles make this the best wonton noodle soup in Houston.

Vietopia

The Quick Breakdown
-A classy and tasty Vietnamese restaurant

The Atmosphere
-Wow. Walk in and you see a beautiful coral reef aquarium. A few more steps and you see the bar with a nice plasma TV. The mood is quiet and relaxing. Vietopia is tastefully decorated with paintings and other trinkets for vietnam. It's a nice place to take that special someone in your life.

The Food
-Cha Gio(Egg rolls).served with pickled veggies, fresh lettuce, cucumbers, and fish sauce.

-Canh Chua(Vietnamese hot and sour soup). Shrimp, bean sprouts, okra, tomatoes, pineapples, basil, red jalapenos stewed in chicken broth. I really enjoyed this although it was a little on the sweet side. We thought about another order but realized that there was alot of food still on the way.

-Ca Chien Chua Ngot(Saigon Sweet and Sour Crispy Fish) Lightly tempura battered fish over a bed of salad, tomatoes, cucumbers, topped with bell peppers, onions and sweet & sour sauce. The flavors and textures mixed together was heavenly. This is a must try here!!

-Com Bo Luc Lac( Rock and Roll Beef). Tender chunks of filet minon with scallions and garlic served with a vinaigrette salad and tomatoes. This came highly recommended from our waiter. The Bo luc lac was simply AWESOME. Another must try here!
